Meta Quest Pro - First Impressions!

As someone who is passionate about virtual reality and its potential to revolutionize the way we work, play and communicate, I recently purchased the Meta Quest Pro. This cutting-edge VR headset promised to offer a more immersive and high-quality experience than anything I had tried before. In this blog post, I want to share my first experiences with the Meta Quest Pro and my thoughts on the future of VR.

First of all, I have to say that the Meta Quest Pro is a beautifully designed device. The sleek and minimalist design, combined with high-quality materials and attention to detail, stunning visual, and crystal-clear sound make it a pleasure to use. One of the things that impressed me the most about the Meta Quest Pro was its comfort. Unlike other VR headsets I have used in the past (including HTC Vive, Oculus Rift, Quest etc.), the Meta Quest Pro is surprisingly lightweight and easy to wear for extended periods of time. I used workrooms application and I was able to use it for up to an hour at a stretch without experiencing any discomfort or fatigue. Other standout features of the Meta Quest Pro are its tracking capabilities, ability to track and present human expressions accurately and charge the controllers.

However, there are also some areas where the Meta Quest Pro could be improved. For example, the need to use controllers for accurate tracking can be a bit cumbersome, especially if you want to use the device for productivity tasks. The hand tracking (controllerless) is poor and sometimes frustrating. Additionally, the user interface is be a bit inconsistent and confusing at times, which can be frustrating when trying to navigate between apps and settings.

Despite these challenges, I am more convinced than ever that virtual reality is the future of computing. The Meta Quest Pro is a giant leap forward in terms of the technology and the user experience, but there is still so much potential to be unlocked. As more developers create new applications and experiences for VR, and as the hardware and software continue to evolve, we will see an explosion of virtual reality applications beyond gaming, and entertainment. My experience with the Meta Quest Pro has only strengthened my conviction that, within the next five years, we will have moved beyond mobile phones and laptops.
